The present Ordinance implements the Rhine Act of 24 October 1990. In particular, article 1 of the Ordinance establishes that measures on the construction and maintenance of flood protection facilities are - according to article 3 of the afore-mentioned Act - subject to the supervision of the government. The government shall transfer these tasks to the Civil Protection Office. The text consists of 11 articles as follows: Competences (1); Duties of the Rhine communities (2); Tasks of the Rhine Commission (3); Representatives of the Rhine communities in the Rhine Commission (4); Yearly maintenance works (5); Extent of controls (6); Basic surveys (7); State contractual arrangement and agreement (8); Works in the danger area (9); Material procurement (10); Entry into force (11).
