Resumen

Protected area of national significance, nature monument “Devil’s bridge” is located within the administrative border of Tat village, Syunik region of Armenia. It has been built over centuries by carbon dioxide from sediments (travertines) and by hot mineral waters, the source of which is in the same place. Mineral waters flowing in a thin stream have created a travertine cliff, which gives the impression of a stone waterfall. The mineral springs are located just below the bridge, which flows into the Vorotan River. Hot mineral waters with healing properties under the “Devil’s bridge” formed pools and the area looks like a huge stalactite cave. The height of the bridge from the river surface is about 50 meters. The authorized activities include: (a) recreation; (b) scientific research and monitoring; and (c) organized tourism.
