Resumen The Regulation consists of 15 sections dealing with: (a) general provisions (sect. 1); (b) timber classification (sect. 2); (c) methods of sanitary felling (sect. 3); (d) selection of timber for growing and sanitary felling (sect. 4); (e) sequence of sanitary felling (sect. 5); (f) rates of sanitary felling (sect. 6); (g) period of sanitary felling (sect. 7); (h) sanitary felling of mixed forest species (sect. 8); (i) sanitary felling in forests of different purposeful use (sect. 9); (j) special sanitary felling (sect. 10); (k) planning, organization and carrying out sanitary felling (sect. 11); (l) land clearing (sect. 12); (m) assessment of sanitary felling efficiency (sect. 13); (n) quality control (sect. 14); (o) Annexes 1-9 (sect. 15). Sanitary felling is an important forestry protection measure aimed at growing valuable forest species by periodical timber extraction of undesirable trees and shrubbery. The main purposes of sanitary felling shall be: (a) formation of homogeneous forest species; (b) qualitative and sustainable improvement of forest stock; (c) conservation and improvement of protection forests; (d) prevention of the amassment of damaged trees and dead standing timber.
