This Norm enters into force 30 days after publication.
Resumen

This Inter-ministerial Norm, consisting of 3 Chapters and 2 Annexes, creates the National Programme for Hygiene and Sanitary Control of Bivalve Molluscs (PNCMB). This Programme aims at establishing the minimum requirements for guaranteeing safe and good quality of bivalve molluscs destined the human consumption, as well as to monitor and control the fulfilment of these requirements. PNCMB applies for the steps related to collecting, transit, processing and transport of these molluscs destined to human consumption. The Ministry of Fisheries and Aquaculture (MPA) will be responsible for monitoring and control contaminating microorganisms and marine bio-toxin in bivalve molluscs, originated from fisheries and aquaculture, through the activity of the General Coordination of Fish Safety - CGSAP.
