Resumen

This Norm defines the common name and respective scientific names for the main species of fish of commercial interest destined for national trade. In particular, it aims to establish, for the main species of fish of commercial interest, the correlation between their common names and their respective scientific names to be adopted in products inspected by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply, and intended for national trade. The labelling of fish and fish products must contain the common name of the species, as established in the list attached to this Norm Instruction. For species of the Salmonidae and Gadidae families, in addition to the common name, the scientific name of the species must be included. The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply will update the attached list and may include new species or make changes to those already covered.
