Products treated with CO must follow the requirements of the importing country for its specific levels. Where CO level is not declared by the importing country, CO level in final product must not exceed a specified level. The Regulation sets out a point score system for grading fish based on colour. The final product shall conform the following microbiological quality requirements a s specified. Rules are also given for the packaging and labelling for Carbon Monoxide treated fish, establishments handling such fish, inspection and analysis and product certification for exportation.
