Resumen

This Act provides, among other things, for the appointment by local authorities of environmental health practitioners and related matters. “Environmental health practitioner” means a person registered as an environmental health practitioner under the Allied Health Professions Act. The Act also requires an environmental health practitioner to be part of the National Health Advisory Committee and the district health board established for every district health office. Every local authority council must appoint, on the written approval of the Minister, an environmental health practitioner as head of health services of the local authority and appoint one or more environmental health practitioners to assist in carrying duties under this Act and any other law governing public and environmental health within its area.
