Resumen The forests of Montenegro with their quality, functions and products are recognizable symbol of an ecological state. The forest is bred multifunctionally according to the most modern standards, why they are natural, healthy, vital and resistant to negative effects and perform their ecological and other functions. Forestry, wood and non-wood products are an integral part of rural economy and rural development. In addition to agriculture and rural tourism, they are one of the main opportunities for socio-economic improvement of rural areas. Therefore, in the period 2014-2020, part EU funds-IPA for rural development and other purposes shall be also directed towards the development of the forestry sector. Especially IPARD funds will be used for development breakthroughs in the following areas: afforestation, filling and care of young and degraded stands; fire protection; rural infrastructure, including rural and forest roads; diversification of the rural economy related to forests; investments in small enterprises of forestry, wood industry and tourism in rural areas. In addition, forestry is actively involved in the implementation of EU Natura protected areas 2000. Texto completo Montenegrino Página web www.gov.me
