Resumen

The present Regulations provide for the continuation of the Department of Industry and Resources as the Ministry of Energy and Resources. The objects and purposes of the Ministry of Energy and Resources are the following: a) to provide the structure wherein and whereby the powers, responsibilities and functions of the Minister of Energy and Resources may be exercised and carried out; b) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programmes of the Government for the economic and orderly development of minerals and mineral resources; c) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programmes of the Government related to: i) the exploration for, development of and management of non-renewable resources; and(ii) the development and management of energy; d) to work together with business, communities, governments and departments to support and encourage the growth and development of the Saskatchewan forest industry; e) to co-ordinate, develop, promote and implement policies and programmes of the Government of Saskatchewan to: i) to enhance the competitiveness of the Saskatchewan forest industry; ii) to increase investment in the Saskatchewan forest industry; and iii) to support and encourage value-added production in the Saskatchewan forest industry.
