This Resolution enters into force on the date of its publication.
Resumen

These updated Guidelines divided into 5 Sections aim at (i) treating and disposing of waste generated during epidemics and pandemics, including adding all new developments of the Covid-19 (therefore, a Section has been added explaining the mechanism for safely handling, treating, and disposing of waste resulting from the treatment of Covid-19, due to its special nature, to ensure the protection and sustainability of the environment); (ii) adding information that serves to enhance the capabilities of dealing with infectious waste to ensure proper and safe management in order to protect human, animal and environmental health (the mechanism for dealing in detail with the contagious waste); and (iii) adding many relevant definitions and information that are compatible with the objectives of the country's strategies for biosecurity and quality of life. The Manual deals with (i) definition of types and classification of infectious waste; (ii) detailed procedures for safe handling, starting from its generation to the final disposal; (iii) mechanism to reduce the risk of exposure to pollutants and infectious wastes; (iv) enhancing the capabilities of dealing with infectious waste to ensure proper and safe management.
