This Resolution enters into force on 18 March 2002.

Resumen

This Resolution amends Articles 1, 2, 5, 6, 9-10, 11, 14, 15, and 18-22 of the Republican Resolution no. 381992 issuing the Law No. 38 on the control on food, and regulation of its trade as follows: this Resolution shall be called “Control Law on Food and Regulation of the trade” (art. 1). Definitions of terms are given in article 2. Competences of the Technical Committee include: preparing policies and plans related to the control and inspection on food and foodstuffs; control on the implementation of the provisions of this Resolution; cooperation with the concerned Authorities on food control and inspection (art. 5). The Committee shall meet at least once a month. The Minister or the Head of the Committee may convoke an extraordinary meeting if they deem it necessary (art. 6). Competences of the Specialist Employee are specified in article 9. Steps to be carried out in the event of food or foodstuff confiscation are defined in article 10. Samples to be analyzed shall be sent to the laboratory within 24 hours (art. 11). The adopted Laboratory shall perform the analysis as soon as possible and send it to the concerned Authority (art. 14). It shall be prohibited to trade any foodstuff without labels (art. 18). Article 19 deals with matters related to expiry dates and the importation of foodstuff. The remaining articles contain provisions on offences, penalties and provisions of miscellaneous nature.
