Resumen This Ministerial Order, approves the Breast Milk Substitutes Code, consisting of 38 articles divided into nine Chapters. The objectives of this Code are: Contribute to the safe and adequate nutrition of infants, protecting them from the risks associated with non-breastfeeding or early and inappropriate weaning, by protecting the healthy African ancestral tradition of breastfeeding and its effective promotion and protection, ensuring the appropriate use, based on adequate scientific information, of breast milk substitutes, solely and exclusively, when these are strictly necessary. Control and regulate the marketing, distribution, advertising and sale of breast milk substitutes and supplements. This Code applies to the marketing and related practices of the following products, manufactured in the country or imported: 1. Infant formula and other dairy or non-dairy products, liquid, powdered, or in any other semi-liquid or paste form for use as partial or total substitutes for breast milk. 2. Follow-up formulas and other complementary foods used for weaning: porridge, soups, fruits, etc. 3. Bottles, as well as cups closed with a straw or spout. 4. Pacifiers. 5.
