The horse breeding industry in the Republic of Tajikistan is considered one of cost-effective industries. Therefore, the developed Program is aimed at restoration of production capacity of existing farms and creation of new horse breeding farms. The main goal of the program is further development of the Tajik horse breed and its representation at the international level. Further development of horse breeding is of great importance, first, in ensuring the country’s food security and practical implementation of poverty reduction strategies. To implement the program and ensure development of horse breeding requires implementation of the following measures: (a) restoration of the activities of the State stable for preservation and carrying out of selection and breeding practices and reproduction of pure bred horses; (b) review of selected seasonal pastures that are assigned to horse farms; (c) the adoption of specific measures to ensure supply of pedigree stallions to existing and newly created horse farms, regardless of the forms of management; (d) creation of pedigree breeding horse farms with a view of improving the internal breeds, types, lines, and families of horses; (e) training of qualified personnel in the Tajik Agricultural University and abroad; (f) large-scale attraction of external and internal investments for the development of horse breeding, creation of joint ventures and provision of preferential loans.
