Resumen

This Ministerial Decree establishes requirements for the conditions of keeping cattle for the purpose of reproduction, raising and trade, requirements for realization of measures on quarantine of cattle, obligatory preventive measures and diagnostic researches of the cattle kept by citizens, including in private subsidiary farms, in peasant farms, individual entrepreneurs, the organizations and establishments of penal and correctional system, other organizations and establishments containing up to 500 heads of cattle. Control over the execution of these Veterinary Rules shall be performed in accordance with the legislation of the Russian Federation in the field of veterinary medicine. Keeping and grazing of cattle on the territory of former solid domestic waste disposal facilities, burial grounds for cattle, leathermaking facilities and sewage treatment facilities. The territory of the farm must be fenced off by means that ensure that wild animals cannot enter the farm (except for birds and small rodents). When keeping cattle in farms together with other animal species (sheep, goats, and swine) building where animals are kept, is divided into isolated rooms for each species of animal. Poultry must be kept in a separate building, isolated from livestock. Keeping livestock in farms on continuous floor shall be performed with or without the use of bedding. Bedding material shall not be frozen or mouldy. Potable water shall be used for watering of cattle and preparation of feedstuffs. In pastures shall be applied measures for extermination of rodents and blood-sucking insects and disinfection of waterbodies and mosquito breeding grounds. Cattle imported into the farm or exported (except for slaughtering animals) from the farm are subject to separate keeping from other groups of cattle kept in the farm for the purpose of veterinary measures (quarantine). The quarantine period must be not less than 21 calendar days from the moment of arrival of cattle in the farm. During the quarantine period, clinical examination of animals, diagnostic tests and treatments are carried out as provided for in the plans of diagnostic tests, veterinary and prophylactic and anti-epizootic measures, of the bodies (institutions) included in the system of the state veterinary service of the Russian Federation for the current calendar year (Plan of anti-epizootic measures). Cattle in farms are subject to diagnostic tests, vaccinations and treatments against infectious diseases in accordance with the Anti-epizootic Action Plan.
