Ministerial Decree No. 232 validating the Regulation on the Committee on Geology and Subsoil Protection.

This Ministerial Decree stipulates that the Committee on Geology and Subsoil Protection shall be state institution responsible for the exploration, protection and management of subsoil. The Committee shall: (a) elaborate and implement state policy on the rational management and protection of subsoil; (b) regulate the exploration, protection and management of subsoil; and (c) supervise subsoil management. It shall be responsible for: (a) validation of the list of mineral deposits; (b) concessions for mineral exploration and water abstraction; (c) monitoring environmental management; (d) state testing of subsoil, including groundwater; (e) geological mapping; and (f) data collection, processing and reporting.
