To this end, the Inspectorate shall: (a) control the technical condition and safety of waterworks; (b) protect large and important waterworks; (c) prevent accidents at waterworks; (d) validate technical rules and regulations regarding safety criteria for waterworks; (e) coordinate the use of waterworks areas, river beds and land in water protection zones for economic activity; (f) validate declarations of waterworks safety; and (g) register waterworks.
