The following activities related to sources of ionizing radiation shall be subject to compulsory licensing: (a) research and development; and (b) mining, extraction, processing, storage, transportation, recycling and disposal. Licensing terms and conditions include: (a) observance by the applicant of the legislation on radiation safety; (b) availability of equipped facilities; (c) availability of radiation safety services; and (d) means of ensuring radiation safety in case of nuclear disaster or accident. Applicants must submit the following documentation: (a) application; (b) notarized copy of the state registration certificate; (c) expert opinion of the state inspectorate on the applicant’s compliance with the licensing terms and conditions; and (d) copy of the receipt for payment of the licensing fee.
