Resumen This Act concerns the internal and international markets for the meat industry by providing for the wholesome processing of meat for human consumption. Other objectives of the Act are to ensure that pet meat produced for pet food or bait meat, is not substituted for meat produced for human consumption, to ensure the humane slaughter of animals for human consumption, pet meat and bait meat; and to foster export and domestic markets for meat for human consumption, pet meat and bait meat (sect. 3). The Act regulates licences for the slaughtering and marketing of meat and provides for inspection of meat and of the processing facilities as well as for the enforcement of the other provisions of the Act.
