Resumen

An Act to provide for the exercise of measurement of pine, cedar, mahogany, balsa, and all other species of wood produced in Belize except log-wood and sawn lumber. The Chief Forest Officer, assisted by two assessors to be appointed by him, one of whom shall be a licensed measurer, shall be the examiner to examine as to the capability and knowledge of all persons desiring to act as licensed measurers. The Chief Forest Officer shall from time to time, with the approval of the Minister, make regulations under which the examination of applicants for licences under this Act shall be conducted and for determining the qualifications to be possessed by persons obtaining such licences. Only licensed measurers shall measure any wood for the purposes of export 4.When any person desires to act as a licensed measurer, the procedure set out in section 4 shall be adopted. No person licensed under this Act or any prior legislation shall be permitted to act as a licensed measurer unless and until his certificate and licence are recorded in the General Registry 6. Every licensed measurer shall if required, before the wood is removed from the place where it is measured, give a certificate signed by him of the gross and net measurement of each piece of wood measured by him.
