Resumen

This law determines mainly the meaning of the seashore zone and method for delimitating it, the procedures for widening that area and the manufacturing of marine illuviations for the establishment of internal harbour works, the procedures for seashore concessions for the implementation of commercial, industrial, mining or other projects and the procedures of external harbour works and their management by the Harbour Funds. The provisions of the law covers a 20 metres-wide area of the coastal zone, while the management of the remaining land towards the hinterland is regulated through other sectoral institutional legislative frames. According to article 7 of the law, the main destination of the seashore is the connection from the sea area towards the hinterland and reversely, while it can also be used for other public purposes and may be exploited for State interests. Article 24 provides for the demolition of constructions built without permit within the coastal area or any other construction preventing the free access to the coast.
