It regulates licensing of dogs in sections 3 and 4. It prescribes steps to be taken if; one finds a dog in a pack, (sec 5); or running at large, (sec7), and sections 8 and 12 deal with the killing of dogs. Section 9 allows an animal protection officer to serve a violation report to a dog owner if they have reasonable grounds to believe that a dog, for which a valid and subsisting licence has been issued, is, or has been, running at large. Section 11 deals with the warning procedure, and section 16 with offences and penalties. Moreover section 10 provides for compensation where an owner of a domestic animal is killed or injured by a dog that is not owned or kept by that owner.
