They also define the categories of veterinary medicinal products and the penalties for violating the Regulations. The document classifies veterinary medicinal products into four categories: prescription only medicines (POM-V), prescription only medicines (POM-VPS), non-food animal medicines (NFA-VPS) and authorised veterinary medicines - general sales list (AVM-GSL). It also explains the criteria, requirements and restrictions for each category, such as the need for a clinical assessment, a prescription, or a demonstration of competence and safety.
