Resumen

This List, based on the provisions of the Law on waters, determines the classification of materials and substances that are considered as pollutants in terms of water resources management and pollution control. This List is divided into two parts. Part A contains substances belonging to the following types and groups of substances, selected mainly on the basis of their toxicity, persistence and bioaccumulative, with the exception of those that are biologically harmless or that rapidly convert to substances that are biologically harmless: 1. organohalogen compounds and substances which can form such compounds in the aquatic environment; 2. organophosphorus compounds; 3. organotin compounds; 4. substances that have been shown to have carcinogenic properties in or through the aquatic environment; 5. mercury and its compounds; 6. cadmium and its compounds; 7. petroleum mineral oils and hydrocarbons of petroleum origin; 8. durable synthetic substances that can sail, stay suspended or sink and which may impede any use of the water. The Part B contains substances belonging to the types and to groups of substances of Part A, for which limit values are not specified: substances and categories of substances belonging to the types and groups of substances which have a detrimental effect on the aqueous environment, but which may be limited to specific area and which depend on the characteristics and location of the water in which they are discharged: 1) Megaloids and megaliths and their compounds; 1. zinc; 2. copper; 3. nickel; 4. chrome; 5. lead; 6. selenium; 7. arsenic; 8. antimony; 9. molybdenum; 10. titanium; 11. tin; 12. barium; 13. beryllium; 14. bor; 15. uranium; 16. vanadium; 17. cobal; 18. thallium; 19. tellur; 20. silver. 2) Biocides and their derivatives not in Part A. 3) Substances that have a detrimental effect on taste and/or the smell of human food products derived from the aquatic environment, and compounds which may increase the presence of such substances in water. 4) Toxic or persistent organic compounds of silicon and substances which may increase the presence of such compounds in the water, excluding those which are biologically safe or which are rapidly turn into harmless substances. 5) Inorganic phosphorus compounds and elemental phosphorus. 6) Mineral oils and hydrocarbons with petroleum origins that are not permanent. 7) Cyanides and fluorides. 8) Substances that have a negative effect on oxygen balance, especially ammonia and nitrites. This text is harmonized with the provisions of the Directive 2008/105/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council on environmental quality standards in the field of water policy.
