The projects that are considered to have impacts on environment are listed in Appendix 1 and Appendix 4 of this Law. The Law defines environmental assessments as identification, description and evaluation of the significant impact of a project or plan or program on the protected goods. The text stipulates that the competent authority shall determine whether or not there is an obligation to carry out an environmental impact assessment. The Law consists of 14 Articles and 5 Annexes and provides for unconditional Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) obligation for new projects, examination, EIA obligation for cumulative projects, and procedures and requirements for EIA.
