Resumen This Law regulates the issues of classification of the territory in special areas, establishes regime of their use and protection, living conditions of the population, economic, scientific research and other activities in the aforesaid areas. The Law ensures and guarantees regime of use and protection of the aforesaid areas for the purpose of reduction of radioactive irradiation on human health and ecosystems. The document consists of VI Section that contain 22 Articles. Section I (arts. 1-11) lays down general provisions. Section II (Arts.12-14) establishes legal status of the alienation zones and unconditional (compulsory) settling out. Section III (Arts.15-17) establishes legal status of the area of voluntary settling out. Section IV (Arts.18-19) establishes legal status of the areas of intensified radio-ecological control. Section V (Arts.20-21) regards control over maintaining legal status of the areas exposed to radioactive contamination as a result of Chernobyl disaster.
