Resumen The purpose of the legislation on ecological network is the regulation of social relations in the sphere of formation, conservation, rational and inexhaustible management of ecological network with the aim of ensuring stable, ecologically balanced development of the Ukraine, environmental protection, meeting the modern, prospective economic, social, ecological and other public interests (art. 2). Ecological network is the common territorial system set up with the purpose of the formation and renewal of environment, rising up the natural resources potential of the Ukraine, conservation of landscape and biological diversity, natural habitats of animals and plants, genetic resources, migration routes of wildlife species by unification of protected areas. Natural reserves, water bodies, forest stock, agricultural areas destined for extensive growing of plants (grazing, haymaking) pertain to the ecological network (art. 3). The principles of the formation, conservation and management of ecological network are: 1) ensuring the integrity of ecosystem functions of single components thereof; 2) conservation of ecological balance of the management of natural resources on the territory of ecological network; 3) expansion of the territories of ecological network; 4) state support of the subjects of economic activity in case of organization on their territory of protected areas; 5) ensuring unification of the national ecological network with the ecological networks of the neighbouring states and Pan-European ecological network (art. 4). Insertion of the territories and objects into the register of protected areas and objects of ecological network shall be carried out with the consideration thereof from the point of view of ecology, botany, zoology and landscape. In the first category shall be included areas of fundamental importance as regards landscape and biological diversity (art. 17). The state monitoring of ecological network envisages preventive arrangements aimed at assessment of the integrity of ecological network, timely exposure of negative changes and prognostication of the possible impact and consequences thereof, and the elaboration of the recommendations concerning conservation and management of ecological network (art. 20). Territories and objects pertaining to the ecological network shall be subject to compulsory registration (art. 21). The Law consists of 4 Sections composed of 25 articles. Texto completo Ucraniano
