It also classifies firearms and ammunition and establishes rights and obligations of their holders. Permanent residents of the Republic of Lithuania and legal persons registered in the Republic of Lithuania may acquire and possess firearms, components and accessories of firearms, and ammunition for the purpose of hunting. Lithuanian residents of not less than 18 years of age and residents in the Republic of Lithuania, holders of hunter’s ticket and entities authorized to rent firearms, shall be authorized to purchase and possess plain-barreled guns, pneumatic guns and ammunition thereto. Laser sights may be acquired, possessed and used by persons that possess sports firearms and hunting firearms. A European natural person or a European legal entity wishing to lease firearms for sports and hunting must obtain a license or a written consent. Weapons may be rented to European natural persons during the hunting season, who have the right to possess that category of hunting weapon and who have provided proof of that right documents and a valid hunter’s ticket.
