This Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Resumen

This Law establishes the State Policy on Sustainable Rural Development. The Policy is based on the following principles: recognizing the importance of family work in small and medium-sized agricultural, livestock, forestry, artisanal fishing and agro-industrial production; effective participation of beneficiaries in the formulation and execution of policies in rural and fishing areas, taking into consideration environmental protection and conservation of natural resources, etc. Policy objectives are: decent living conditions for the families and rural producers and artisanal fishers and aquaculture workers; increase their technical and managerial capacity, in order to increase the level of economic efficiency; promote the development of family production units and the diversification of small and medium-sized agribusinesses; adopt agrarian policy seeking the democratization and optimization of the State land structure; support the organization of the various segments that make up the rural and fishing population; protect the environment and ensure the rational use of natural resources; guarantee access to basic services; guarantee the State’s internal supply.
