Resumen This Law consisting of 30 articles aims at regulating the practice of veterinary medicine in Qatar. It establishes that veterinary medicine shall only be practiced with a licence from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Agriculture (art.3). Article 4 states that to open a veterinary clinic is needed a licence and permit from the Ministry and gives specifications for the clinic's owner. A Veterinary Medical Licensing Committee shall be established at the Ministry with the following tasks (i) consider applications for and renewal of licences to practice veterinary medicine and to open veterinary clinics; (ii) give written permits for another licensed veterinary doctor to replace an absent doctor of a clinic; (iii) may order the administrative closure by the police of an unlicensed clinic; (iv) its members can be vested with the capacity of judicial officers to investigate violations of the provisions of this law and its implementing resolutions; and (v) convene a disciplinary hearing regarding any licensed veterinary doctor or person authorized to open a clinic whose actions violate both the standards and regulations of veterinary medicine and the provisions of this Law.
