This Law enters into force on the day of its publication.
Resumen

This Law establishes the State Policy for the Sustainable Use of Golden grass and Wine-palm straw (Capim-Dourado and Buriti). It establishes principles, objectives, guidelines and instruments, and responsibilities applicable to people involved in its extraction, craft production chain and the Public Power, with the purpose of encourage sustainable production and conscious management, necessary for the renewal of species in public or private cultivation areas, as well as in conservation areas, with a view to preserving the corresponding genetic resources. This State Policy aims to: promote the socioeconomic development of traditional communities that make handicrafts from golden grass and wine palm straw; establish criteria and techniques for the sustainable management of these products areas, as well as for monitoring actions that may threaten the two species and their environments; disseminate techniques for managing and using golden grass and buriti; disseminate data and information and contribute to the public awareness and social learning about the importance of the sustainable use of golden grass and buriti and their environments; conserve and manage the environments where they live; protect Permanent Preservation Areas; provide for sanctions applicable to cases of non-compliance with the provisions of this Law; stimulate the flowering of golden grass in clean, humid fields, where this species is extracted, through the sustainable use of controlled fires, within the scope of Integrated Fire Management (MIF); protect, when controlled use of fire, areas of forest and riparian vegetation, especially burit groves and gallery forests.
