Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force the day after its publication in the Official Gazette.
Resumen

This Law consisting of 25 articles divided in VII Chapters aims at protecting and guaranteeing the rights of the consumer before and after into a contract. In particular, it refers to: right to health and safety; right to obtain accurate data and information; right to free choice of products; and right to respect the consumers’ privacy. Chapter II regards the supplier’s obligations and deals with advertisement of the products and any possible damage or the consumer health or safety. Chapter III on the Duties of the Directorate concerned with the Consumer Protection deals with the aim of facilitating for the consumer to obtain products at a reasonable quality and suitable price in addition to protecting him from commercial fraud and harmful monopolistic practices. Chapter IV concerns the Rules of Competition and Monopoly and Manifestations of Breach of their Rules. The Law also allows inspection of shops and businesses to check the products.
