Resumen This Law, consisting of 23 articles, establishes the restructuring of the Plant Health Protection System in Amazonas State. This Plant Health Protection System aims at promoting the protection of the plant health, based on the mandatory adoption of technical and administrative measures, with the following specific objectives: preserving the quality and health of vegetables; maintaining plant health surveillance service for the prevention, monitoring, control and eradication of pests; preventing the introduction or dissemination of plants pests in the State of Amazonas; developing effective system of epidemiological surveillance; controling plant transit in the State of Amazonas; ensuring the quality of services used in agriculture; encouraging community involvement in plant protection actions; harmonizing the measures to be adopted with the standards and environmental protection principles, the conservation of natural resources and the preservation of human health; ensuring identity and health of plant products for consumers; promoting and implementing plant health education.
