Resumen This Law, based on arts. 23, 24 and 225 of the Federal Constitution and in art. 14 of Law No. 4.771 of 15 September 1965, regulates the preservation, conservation and use of forestry resources in the Federal District. It recognizes as Natural Heritage of the Federal District the Cerrado Biome, whose members are assets of the local community. The forests and other forms of native vegetation, urban and rural, existing in the Federal District, useful for the maintenance and conservation of the lands they cover, are considered as goods of common interest to all citizens, exercising their right of ownership and use with the limitations that the legislation establish. All the forestry formations, urban and rural, of the territory of the Federal District are under the protection of this Law. The objectives of the Policy on Forestry are: protect natural resources: flora, fauna, atmosphere, soil and water; develop the forest potential of the Federal District to: a) produce quality forestry raw material; b) rational use of the soil in the rural properties, according to its agro-silvopastoral capacity and within the limits allowed or established; c) stimulate for forest use the land used for non-competitive agricultural activities; d) provide raw materials and inputs necessary for economic activities and maintenance of the rural population; generate new job opportunities: a) make possible a new source of income generating activities; b) industrialization and commercialization of forestry raw material produced in the Federal District; encourage the planting and management of native and exotic forest species for economic, social and environmental purposes; promote the recovery of degraded areas through forest restoration through natural regeneration and reforestation; organize and diversify forestry activity in rural property; promote trainings on forestry; develop technical assistance and processing in forestry sector, etc. Texto completo Portugués Página web www.sinj.df.gov.br
