Entry into force notes
This Law enters into force on 25 July 1998.
Resumen

This Law is composed of 8 Sections divided into 47 articles. Terms and definitions are given in Section I. Section II defines objectives of this Law which shall be: improvement and increasing of agricultural production; regulating, production, marketing and classification of adopted seeds; protection of ownership rights; regulating the commerce and circulation of fertilizers; encouragement of the private sector to practice all activities related to this field; and regulating the importation and exportation of seeds, fertilizers an nurseries. Regulating the production of adopted seeds and nurseries is given in Section III. Patent ownership protection is provided for in Section IV. Regulating the trade and circulation of fertilizers is dealt with in Section V. The technical control and inspection is provided for in Section VI. Offences, penalties and concluding provisions are contained in Sections VII and VIII.
