Entry into force notes
This Law comes into force after ten calendar days after the day of its first official publication.
Resumen

This Law regulates social relations arising in the process of the performance of geodetic and cartographic activities, including search, collection, storage, processing, provision and distribution of spatial data. Geographic information system shall be intended information system, providing collection, processing, analysis, modeling, storage, distribution and other use of spatial information about the Earth, about earthly surface, natural, man-made and social processes. Distant zoning of the Earth is the process of obtaining information about surface of the Earth by observing and measuring from space and air of the space of own and reflected radiation of elements of land, ocean and atmosphere. This Law contains 5 Chapters divided into 32 Articles. Chapter 1 lays down general provisions. Chapter 2 regards state management in the field of geodesy, cartography and spatial data. Chapter 3 regards ensuring the performance of geodetic and cartographic activities. Chapter 4 regards geodetic and cartographic supervision. Chapter 5 lays down final provisions. The objects of geodetic and cartographic activities are the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan, territory of the globe, air and space, including natural celestial bodies and artificial satellites of the Earth. State regulation of public relations in the field of geodesy, cartography and spatial data is based on the following principles: (a) consistency and continuity in the implementation of geodetic and cartographic activities; (b) the completeness, reliability and relevance of spatial data sets; (c) uniformity of measurements when performing geodetic, cartographic, topographical and gravimetric work; (d) use of uniform standards; (e) accessibility and openness of spatial data, with the exception of information constituting state secrets, proprietary information of limited distribution and other information protected by law; (f) use of approved reference systems; (g) interoperability; and (h) stimulating the development of the field of geodesy, cartography and spatial data.
