Resumen This Sanitary Code regulates social relations in the field of healthcare and is aimed at the realization of the constitutional rights of citizens and protection of public health. Sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population shall be intended the state of public health and the human environment, in which there is no harmful effect of environmental factors on individual and favorable conditions for his activities are provided. State regulation in the sphere of sanitary protection of environment and human health shall include protection of mother and child, ensuring sanitary and epidemiological well-being of the population, promotion of healthy nutrition and public participation on the issues of protection of public health. Use of hazardous chemical and biological agents (officially listed) harmful for public health of the present and the future generations shall be prohibited on the national territory. State Sanitary and Epidemiological Supervision Service shall be responsible for complex evaluation of environmental factors impact on sanitary and epidemiological situation, setting requirements for manufacturing, storage and transportation of foodstuffs, including infant food and food additives, and potable water. Citizens shall be granted the right to ecological, sanitary and epidemiological well-being and radiation safety. The state control in the sphere of circulation of infant food and designated infant food products is organized and performed by the authorized state body in the field of health care, other state bodies within the authority defined by the regulatory legal acts of the Republic of Tajikistan. Infant food products must pass mandatory state certification. Label of infant food must contain the following information in state language: (a) priority and benefits of breastfeeding (breast milk) for child health; (b) the need for medical advice prior to the se of additional infant food; and (c) method of preparation, feeding schedule, observance of hygiene and disposal of residues of the prepared mixture.
