Resumen This Law creates the State Policy to Fight Extreme Poverty. The specific objectives of the State Policy are: implement a State Programme aimed at establishing mechanisms of socio-economic development for social programmes of the Federal and State Government, addressed to the populations in a state of social vulnerability of regions and territories in which the State is developing initiatives of local development and food and nutritional security; articulate efficiently the specific actions and policies to maximize their impact and results; promote initiatives of social protection, income generating activities, family income and alternatives to increase productivity in food production; raise funds from the Union, from private initiative to finance structural actions to fight against poverty; build actions addressed to population without access to the Federal and State Governments' anti-poverty policies; create specific instruments to fight extreme poverty in the rural areas; combat slave and forced labour and promote measures to eradicate it; create, in partnership with university and research institutions, a Social Policy Observatory to systematize information on poverty and construct indicators to support development and poverty reduction policies. The State Policy also includes: the use of financial, budgetary and credit instruments, public and private; a specific Fund to Fight Extreme Poverty and Reduce Social Inequalities; agreements and contracts with civil society entities, in order to carry out actions coordinated with the public sector; use of microcredit to finance projects for achieving the objectives of this Law.
