Resumen These Regulations concern the labelling of foodstuffs to be delivered as such to the ultimate consumer and certain aspects relating to presentation and advertising. These Regulations apply foodstuffs including milk, food intended for particular nutritional uses and food intended for supply to hotels, restaurants, hospitals, and other mass caterers. Regulation 4 prohibits the use of misleading claims. Regulation 5 prescribes particulars which compulsorily shall be included in the labelling of food, subject to exceptions and other indications contained in regulations 6 to 18. Those Regulations regard the contents of indication of name under which the product is sold, list of ingredients, quantity of ingredients, date of minimum durability, instructions for use, particulars on prepackaged products, lot marking indications, specific indications for foodstuffs listed in the Sixth Schedule, etc. Regulation 19 and the Seventh Schedule prescribe the substances that may be added for specific nutritional purposes to food for particular nutritional uses.
