Resumen

This Joint Decree sanitary rules and regulations for combating and prophylaxis of Q fever (Coxiella burnetti infection) – an infectious disease common to domestic, commercial and wild animals (hoofed animals, small mammals and birds), poultry and human beings. Infection of human beings is usually transmitted through bites of insects and consumption of milk, meat-based and meat products that have not been sufficiently heat treated. Owners of agricultural and domestic animals shall be completely responsible for compliance with veterinary and sanitary regulations related to keeping and exploitation of animals. Newly purchased animals shall be registered and shall be kept for 30 days in quarantine for veterinary testing. Purchase, trade, delivery to slaughtering, grazing and movement of cattle shall be carried out prior authorization of veterinary service. In accordance with the prescription of veterinary experts ill animals shall be timely delivered for slaughtering of the whole herd shall be liquidated. Diagnosis and differential diagnosis shall be based upon analysis of serologic testing.
