This standard establishes the basic requirements for safety certificate of chemical products in terms of its compilation, content, presentation and design of information included therein. This standard applies to the safety data sheet, developed for chemical products (substance, mixture, material, industrial waste). The safety data sheet is a mandatory part of technical documentation for chemical products (substance, mixture, material, industrial waste) and is intended for providing the consumer with reliable information on safety for industrial use, storage, transportation and disposal of chemical products, as well as their use for domestic purposes. The safety data sheet must contain reliable information, set out in an accessible and concise form, sufficient for the consumer to take the necessary measures to ensure the protection of human health and workplace safety, environmental protection at all stages of life cycle of chemical products, including disposal thereof in the form of waste. Organization (person) manufacturing and supplying chemical products to the market shall be responsible for preparation of safety data sheet, completeness and reliability of the information contained therein. Information requested for the preparation of safety certificate of chemical products must be obtained from sources recognized as competent in matters concerning relevant sections of safety certificate, or as a result of research (tests) carried out in accordance with the requirements of regulatory documents. The acknowledgement of competence is carried out in the manner established by the competent authorities of the countries. The organization (person) responsible for data reporting related to chemical products on the market (manufacturer, supplier, importer or seller), is obliged to provide the consumer with a safety data sheet free of charge. At the request of the consumer, safety data sheet must be provided to him in the event that data on hazardous properties or the types of hazardous effects of chemical products are well known.
