This standard applies to vegetables of the variety (cultivar) of Capsicum annuum L. to be exported and for supply fresh to the consumer after preparation and packaging. Cayenne peppers intended for industrial processing, are not covered by the present regulations. This standard defines also the minimum quality requirements to be met by peppers after preparation and packaging, classification, sizing, packaging and presentation, marking and labelling.
