They provide for the cleansing and disinfection of vehicles used to transport live animals susceptible to foot-and-mouth disease. They also regulate the movement of live animals and the sale of meat not eligible for export, create offences in relation to anything which is prohibited to export under the Regulations and provide for powers of enforcement. Certain provisions do not apply to products that have been processed in premises operating HACCP.
