Resumen The Act provides for the immovable property rights. It establishes that if it appears to the District Commissioner that any immovable property is necessary for public use or public interest, he/she shall issue a notice on the said property or at a convenient place near the said property, in the prescribed form and manner, stating that the said property is proposed to be acquired. In the case of acquisition of immovable property for a private person or organization, irrespective of the amount of immovable property, the prior approval of the Government shall be obtained before the commencement of the acquisition process. After considering the report sent by the Deputy Commissioner under sub-section (3) of section 5, as the case may be, - a) within 60 working days of the Government submitting the said report, and b) within 15 working days of the submission of the said report by the Commissioner or within 30 (thirty) working days after giving reasons in writing to that effect – will take the final decision and the Deputy Commissioner shall determine the amount of compensation for any immovable property acquirable under this Act following specific matters.
