Subject to subregulation (2), these Regulations apply to a waste generator, waste transporter and waste manager. These Regulations do not apply to a person who generates domestic waste which is collected by a District Assembly. The Agency may grant an exemption where the Agency considers it necessary. Among others, the Regulations relate to wastes from the production and preparation of pharmaceutical products, including veterinary drugs, as well as regulates wastes from agriculture, horticulture, aquaculture, forestry, hunting and fishing, food preparation and processing. It provides that a person shall not dispose of or accept for disposal in a landfill the following types of waste, among others, waste from a hospital, laboratory and other medical or veterinary establishment which is considered to be infectious.
