Gujrat Waste to Energy Policy, 2016

This Policy was created to handle the management of municipal solid waste and convert it into renewable energy. The main objectives of this Policy are to facilitate and promote utilization of municipal solid waste as renewable source for generation of electricity, to facilitate and promote disposal of municipal solid waste in more environment friendly manner, to help improve efficiency and effectiveness of collection and disposal of municipal solid waste and to reduce the requirement of land for disposal of municipal solid waste, thereby saving public resources.
