This Governmental Decree enters into force three months after the date of its official publication.
Resumen

This Veterinary and Sanitary Requirement establishes control measures and supervision of certain substances and their residues in live animals and their products, as well as residues of veterinary medicines in products of animal origin provides for the monitoring of certain substances and their residues in live animals and products of animal origin. Provisions of this Veterinary and Sanitary Requirement apply to the following groups of substances for which maximum residue levels have been established: (a) group A - substances with anabolic effects and unauthorized substances: (a) stilbenes, stilbene derivatives, as well as their salts or esters; (b) antithyroid agents; (c) steroids; (d) resorcylic acid lactones, including zeranol; (e) ÿ-agonists; (f) substances not authorized for use in food producing animals, such as: Aristolochia spp. and preparations derived from it, chloramphenicol, chloroform, chlorpromazine, colquicin, dapsone, dimetridazole, metronidazole, nitrofurans (including furazolidone), ronidazole; and (b) group B - medicines for veterinary purposes, including unauthorized substances that can be used for veterinary purposes, and contaminants: (a) antimicrobial agents, including sulfonamides, quinolones; (b) other veterinary medicines, including: anthelmintics, anticoccides and nitroimidazole; carbamates and pyrethroids; sedatives; non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (AINS); other pharmacologically active substances; (c) other pollutants and environmental substances such as organochlorine compounds, including polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), organophosphorus compounds, heavy metals, mycotoxins, dyes, other substances. It describes the procedure of taking and examination of samples, frequency of sampling and distribution of species subject to sampling.
