Resumen This Government Regulation, consisting of 128 articles divided into eleven Chapters and one Annex, establishes the National Ship Requirements. In particular, it aims at regulating how to carry out domestic shipping or inter-island transportation, prioritizing the use of the Indonesian national fleet, as well as foreign shipping, especially for export and import activities, as far as possible using Indonesian national vessels. This is intended to provide protection for the development of the national shipping business. It regulates the shipping aiming at protecting sea, river and lake transportation according to scientific and technological improvements and environmental sustainability. In addition, it regulates the following sectors: ship measurement; ship registration; ship nationality; ship safety; skipper and crew; ship accidents; container worthiness; prevention and control of water pollution, complying with the international sea law conventions that have been ratified by Law No. 17 of 1985.
