The purpose of the Regulations is to regulate, in order to ensure a safe supply of drinking water to the population in small settlements, to prevent and eliminate possible contamination of small-scale drinking water supply systems. The regulation applies to small-scale operating or proposed drinking water supply systems that supply an average of less than 200 cubic meters per day or serve communities of less than 2,000 people and serve to meet the drinking water and domestic water needs of the population. The Regulations do not apply to public drinking water supply systems with a capacity of more than 200 cubic meters per day or serving more than 2,000 persons. Compliance with this Regulation is mandatory for all organizations and persons owning or responsible for managing small-scale drinking water supply systems. Disinfection of water in small-scale drinking water supply systems must be carried out continuously, with the exception of groundwater wells, and must be carried out only using biocidal substances registered by the Ministry of Health, Labor and Social Protection.
