Resumen

This Act, consisting of 38 sections and one Schedule, provides for the eradication, prevention and control of diseases affecting animals. The Government, with the object of eradicating any scheduled diseases may: a) declare any local area to be an eradication area, and thereupon in such area any class of animals specified in the notification shall be liable to be immunized in the manner and marked as described in the notification; and b) prohibit or regulate the movement of any class of animals to and from any local area declared to be an eradication area. For the purpose of immunizing any animal the Veterinary Surgeon or Inspector may require any person in charge of animals to carry out immunization and marking. The Government may prohibit, control or regulate: import, export or transport of any animals or the carcasses of animals; hold animal markets, fairs, exhibitions or other concentration of animals in any specified area; sale or other dealings of infected animal or carcasses of animals.
