Resumen

These Regulations amend the Meat Products (Hygiene) Regulations 1994, the Fresh Meat (Hygiene) and Inspection Regulations 1995 and the Minced Meat and Meat Preparations (Hygiene) Regulations 1995 in their application to Wales. The amendments are consequence of Commission Decision 2001/356/EC of 4 May 2001 concerning certain protection measures with regard to foot-and-mouth disease in the United Kingdom and repealing Commission Decision 2001/172/EC. These Regulations: substitute references to Commission Decision 2001/172/EC for references to Commission Decision 2001/356/EC in the amended Regulations; and remove the prohibitions on the export of minced meat and meat preparations (and the corresponding exceptions) in the Minced Meat and Meat Preparations (Hygiene) Regulations 1995 .The prohibition on export of minced meat and meat preparations formerly contained in regulations 7(1A) and 8(4A) of the Minced Meat and Meat Preparations (Hygiene) Regulations 1995 is now contained in the legislation implementing Decision 2001/356/EC (The Import and Export Restrictions (Foot-and-Mouth Disease) (Wales) (No.6) Regulations 2001).
